Frequently Asked Questions
Holistic Nutrition is a healing practice grounded in the research-based belief that your journey to a healthy, balanced life is complex, unique, and made up of every lifestyle choice you make.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach. Holistic nutrition focuses on a well-balanced nourishing diet, as well as all other areas of wellness — stress management, environmental factors, thought patterns, sleep hygiene, mindset . . . Holistic nutrition rejects the symptom-band-aid approach and sees your health as the sum of all its parts. If one cog in the machine is failing, the impact is far reaching.
Holistic Nutrition will reconnect you with your body, giving it the opportunity to do what it does best, heal and thrive.
If you’re a strong, motivated woman whose been struggling with how to heal digestive health, symptoms of chronic fatigue, hormone imbalance, and just feeling downright sh***y, you’ve come to the right place!
If you’ve already: seen practitioners, tried diets and cleanses, DIY’d it, taken prescriptions, and are still scrambling for an explanation (and results!) you’re the perfect candidate for holistic nutritional therapy.
Nutritional therapy is about alleviating the causes of chronic symptoms for good — simply managing symptoms doesn’t cut it! I address the functional, root causes of your pains using a research-backed, scientific approach to physiology. Together we’ll form a tailored, step-by-step game plan to tackle the imbalances that are attempting to dim your spark!
Healing isn’t linear. It’s also a continuous, lifelong journey, and every body is different. There will be ups and downs in the journey but I’m ready to course correct when needed and find what works for you!
Where your body is at now is an accumulation of years of stressors compounding on top of one another. The compounding effects of healing will take time as well. While some positive changes will be apparent more quickly, deep healing — rebuilding foundations and restoring optimal function to the body — will take time and patience. But I promise it will all be SO worth it!
Results are achieved when you truly believe that you deserve to feel good. The women who thrive in my programs are the ones who are willing to dive deep, do the inner work, and have a hunger for connecting the dots in their lives.
If you are persistent and willing to put in the effort to make lasting changes, I am confident you will gain your desired results.
I value humility — with humility comes transparency. A holistic and food-first approach to healing won’t work for everyone. But, for those who are truly committed to staying the course, making the commitment, and doing the work (for the long term! This is no 30-day-and-done deal ;)) I do fully believe you’ll find the relief and healing you’re looking for.
My approach to healing through holistic nutrition is proven through science as well as real-world results. While western medicine has its place, it doesn’t always do the best job at addressing the underlying conditions that are causing your uncomfortable symptoms. Not only will we address the root issues contributing to the symptoms you’re struggling with, but you will also have me as your biggest cheerleader, accountability buddy, and coach the whole way through. I’ll be there to celebrate your wins right alongside you, but also to help keep you accountable, and push you to challenge yourself — because I believe in you! It’s my job to ensure you cultivate the most impactful results possible.
Once these changes are made and the results are tangible, it’s easy to keep the momentum going!
While much of the work is similar, most dieticians may tend to focus on a more prescriptive, westernized approach to tackle medical conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and even cancer.
Nutritional Therapy Practitioners and Holistic Nutritionists focus on foundational imbalances and restoring function of the entire body. We help our clients make more informed choices related to their specific behaviors, lifestyle, and relationship with food.
The “diets” often prescribed by dieticians can, in fact, help relieve your symptoms — but they can often be providing relief through symptom suppression, rather than truly healing the cause. A holistic nutritionist’s goal is never to suppress symptoms for the sake of alleviation, but to assure the issue is resolved from the ground up.
Think of it as a drop of water in the ocean. While a dietician is there to help you optimize each individual drop, an NTP or Holistic Nutritionist is looking at the quality of the ocean as a whole.
I would never ask you to kiss a final goodbye to your favorite foods! Depending on your lifestyle, health history, and the trajectory of your own unique path, your needs will differ from the next gal’s. Healing may require a short break from some of the foods you love — but this isn’t permanent. Often, our bodies just need time to reboot.
We’ll focus on developing positive relationships with the food you eat and incorporating nutrient-dense, properly-prepared, whole foods that contribute to nourishing your body from the inside out. . . And then we’ll work on mindfully incorporating those old favorites into your new, whole-health lifestyle.
No, everything we do together can be done virtually. I will provide you with all the tools you need to be successful and take control of your health via e-mail, your client portal, and check-in calls.
